Carl Haas and Paul newman met when they raced against each other in the Can-Am series... They went on to create what would become one of the most formidable operations in open wheel racing in the United States.. The hiring of Mario Andretti led to immediate success and the first of many of their wins, pole positions and track records.
This year, as Newman/Haas Racing (now known as Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing LLC with the addition of businessman Michael Lanigan) will begin its 25th season in Champ Car competition and will attempt to add the seven titles, 97 wins and 100 oiles earned by Newman/Haas Racing. Drivers for Newman/Haas Racing have included many world-renowned competitors in addition to Mario Andretti, such as Michael Andretti, Nigel Mansell, Paul Tracy, Cristiano da Matta and Sebasties Bourdais. |
